About The Position

Now Interviewing for a Full-Time Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant in Buckeye, AZ for the 2026-2027 School Year! LEARN Academy (LEARN Academy® School Support Services and Education Network), a nationwide provider of special education services to schools, formerly Light Street Special Education Solutions, helps schools succeed by providing comprehensive special education programs and services. We partner with schools to improve the quality and efficiency of services provided to children with special needs. As a School-Based Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant at LEARN Academy, you play a crucial role in supporting the delivery of comprehensive special education services to children with special needs. Working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, you implement evidence-based interventions that promote students' participation and success in their educational environment. You will work across school settings alongside teachers, administrators, families, and related service providers to deliver high-quality support. Responsibilities include assisting in evaluating student needs, developing and implementing treatment plans, and monitoring progress toward IEP goals.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant from an accredited program
  • Maintain AZ COTA license requirements
  • Valid AZ IVP Fingerprint card
  • Presently eligible to work in the United States

Responsibilities

  • Providing direct therapy services to students, focusing on improving their functional abilities in areas such as fine motor skills, sensory processing, and activities of daily living.
  • Collaborating with classroom teachers to integrate occupational therapy strategies into the educational curriculum.
  • Assisting in the adaptation of learning environments and materials to enhance student participation and independence.
  • Contributing to the IEP process by providing insights on student progress and recommending appropriate interventions.
  • Maintaining accurate and timely documentation of student assessments, interventions, and progress.
  • Participating in team meetings and professional development activities to stay current with best practices in school-based occupational therapy.
