About The Position

VNA of Ohio is seeking a PRN Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join their Home Health team in Cleveland/Northeast Ohio. This position offers competitive per-visit pay and the flexibility to work around your personal schedule. The role involves providing skilled occupational therapy treatments to home health patients under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist, focusing on improving daily living activities, implementing therapeutic interventions, monitoring progress, educating patients and families, and maintaining accurate documentation.

Requirements

  • Active COTA license (Ohio)
  • Current BLS certification
  • Reliable vehicle and valid driver's license
  • Ability to travel throughout the Cleveland / Northeast Ohio service area
  • Minimum 1 year of clinical occupational therapy assistant experience

Nice To Haves

  • Prior home health experience
  • Experience working under OT supervision in a community or home-based setting
  • Familiarity with HCHB or similar home health EMR
  • Experience with adaptive equipment recommendations and home modification assessments

Responsibilities

  • Provide skilled occupational therapy treatments to home health patients under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist in accordance with the established plan of care
  • Assist patients in improving their ability to perform activities of daily living including dressing, bathing, grooming, meal preparation, and home management
  • Implement therapeutic interventions focused on fine motor skills, coordination, cognitive function, and adaptive techniques
  • Monitor and document patient progress toward established therapy goals
  • Educate patients and families on home exercise programs, adaptive equipment, and compensatory strategies
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EMR within required timeframes
  • Communicate regularly with the supervising OT and interdisciplinary care team regarding patient status and progress
