About The Position
PruittHealth is seeking a licensed Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to help patients improve functional abilities, increase independence with daily activities, and enhance their quality of life. The position is with PruittHealth - Walterboro, a provider of post-acute care, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, and therapy services. The COTA implements occupational therapy treatment plans under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist and contributes to patient care and interdisciplinary treatment goals. The position is PRN and located in Walterboro, South Carolina. New graduates are welcome to apply; experience in rehabilitation or post-acute care is preferred.
Requirements
- Associate degree from an accredited OTA program.
- Current Occupational Therapy Assistant license in the state of practice.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Foreign-trained applicants must possess credentials deemed substantially equivalent by the applicable credentialing organization.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in rehabilitation or post-acute care is preferred.

Responsibilities
- Implement occupational therapy treatment plans under OT supervision.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living and functional tasks.
- Guide therapeutic exercises and activities to improve independence.
- Observe and report patient progress to the Occupational Therapist.
- Complete timely and accurate documentation.
- Educate patients and caregivers on adaptive techniques and equipment.
- Support interdisciplinary care planning and treatment goals.
