About The Position

LEARN Academy is seeking a Part-Time Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to work in a school-based setting. LEARN Academy, formerly Light Street Special Education Solutions, is a nationwide provider of special education services that partners with schools to improve the quality and efficiency of services for children with special needs. As a School-Based COTA, you will be a crucial part of a multidisciplinary team, implementing evidence-based interventions to support students' participation and success in their educational environment. You will collaborate with teachers, administrators, families, and other related service providers to deliver high-quality support. Responsibilities include assisting in evaluating student needs, developing and implementing treatment plans, and monitoring progress toward IEP goals.

Requirements

Associate's Degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant from an accredited program
Maintain AZ COTA license requirements
Valid AZ IVP Fingerprint card
Presently eligible to work in the United States

Responsibilities

Providing direct therapy services to students, focusing on improving their functional abilities in areas such as fine motor skills, sensory processing, and activities of daily living.
Collaborating with classroom teachers to integrate occupational therapy strategies into the educational curriculum.
Assisting in the adaptation of learning environments and materials to enhance student participation and independence.
Contributing to the IEP process by providing insights on student progress and recommending appropriate interventions.
Maintaining accurate and timely documentation of student assessments, interventions, and progress.
Participating in team meetings and professional development activities to stay current with best practices in school-based occupational therapy.
