About The Position

The Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA), under the direction of an Occupational Therapist, provides therapeutic interventions in an interdisciplinary environment consistent with the position’s qualifications, professional practices, and ethical standards. The role assists with treatment plans developed by occupational therapists and supports patients in improving functional abilities and independence. The position is located at River Pointe Health Campus in Evansville, Indiana.

Requirements

• Current, valid state OTA licensure or certification; must be maintained.
• Degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant from an accredited program.
• 0–1 years of experience.

Nice To Haves

• Current valid CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist in carrying out treatment plans developed by occupational therapists, including therapeutic exercises, activities of daily living (ADL) training, and other interventions.
• Help patients with exercises, activities, and adaptive techniques aimed at improving their functional abilities and independence.
• Observe and maintain up-to-date documentation related to patients’ responses to therapy, document progress, and report findings to the supervising Occupational Therapist.
• Provide education and guidance to patients and their families on home exercises, adaptive techniques, and strategies to support continued progress.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Support Occupational Therapists in evaluating patient needs and progress by providing additional observations and insights.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
