About The Position

Senior LIFE York is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) for a full-time position in York, Pa. Senior LIFE is dedicated to changing eldercare by providing comprehensive and integrated care plans for seniors, focusing on medical, social, emotional, physical, and therapeutic needs. The COTA will play a crucial role in developing and executing occupational therapy plans, assisting the occupational therapist with daily member care. Senior LIFE aims to help seniors stay at home and live safely in the community by coordinating healthcare and supportive services. This innovative program utilizes a team approach, offering medical, social, nutritional, and rehabilitation services at the Senior LIFE Center, supplemented by in-home nursing, personal care, and other homecare services. This allows seniors to remain in their homes while receiving necessary care.

Requirements

  • COTA must be fully licensed in Pennsylvania.
  • Must be committed to participating in the educational training and workshops required for license retention.
  • At least one year of experience working with the elderly population.
  • Ability to demonstrate strong working knowledge during the interview process.
  • A valid Pennsylvania driver’s license is also required.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting in the development of comprehensive, integrated treatment programs for members.
  • Executing select treatments in accordance with OT and interdisciplinary Plans of Care.
  • Assessing homebound members’ needs, including home visits, comprehensive evaluations and ongoing follow up, as needed.
  • Training outside caregivers and family members as well as Senior LIFE staff members in relevant OT protocol.
  • Providing ongoing training and support to members, members’ families and external caregivers for in-home participants, ensuring maximum independence and safety for those not at the center.
  • Documenting all member care, executed by the COTA or the OTR, and evaluating and updating care plans as necessary.
  • Maintaining up-to-date records in Data Pace, ensuring all interdisciplinary team members can review and analyze, as needed.
