The Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA/OTA) is responsible for assisting and supporting the plan of treatment for each resident. The assistant is an active participant in the center and an integral part of the interdisciplinary team. Operationally, the COTA/OTA reports to the Director of Rehabilitation or their designee. Clinically, the assistant is overseen by the therapist coordinating care for the resident. The role also involves supervising assistant students and aides according to state and federal guidelines.
