Requirements

  • Current certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant.
  • Ability to work effectively under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent observational and documentation abilities.
  • A positive, team-oriented attitude with a commitment to exceptional patient care.
  • Passion for helping individuals achieve greater independence and improve their quality of life.
  • Graduate from an accredited Occupational Therapist Assistant program.
  • Current COTA license required.
  • Current CPR certification required.

Nice To Haves

  • Six months experience in a long-term care environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Administer occupational therapy treatment programs with goals tailored to each patient's abilities, needs, and tolerance levels under the direction of a physician and Occupational Therapist.
  • Assist patients with therapeutic activities and exercises designed to improve function, mobility, and independence.
  • Implement treatment plans while demonstrating strong clinical judgment and sound reasoning.
  • Monitor patient progress, document outcomes, and communicate observations to the Occupational Therapist.
  • Educate patients and family members on home exercise programs, daily living skills, and the safe use of adaptive equipment.
  • Provide compassionate, patient-centered care that promotes dignity, confidence, and well-being.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to support optimal patient outcomes.
  • Maintain punctuality and reliable attendance for assigned shifts.
