The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) at The Center at Cordera is a vital part of their patient-centered care. Under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist, the COTA will assist in planning, organizing, developing, and directing the facility’s Occupational Therapy Services. This role ensures that services are delivered in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations, maintaining the highest degree of quality care for patients.

Requirements

  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a skilled nursing facility setting.
  • Associate’s Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Current Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license or eligibility for licensure in the state of Colorado.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with administration, medical and nursing staff, patients, and families in planning comprehensive therapy services.
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and coordination of individualized patient care plans, ensuring alignment with patient assessments.
  • Clearly brief patients on procedures involved in occupational therapy and prepare necessary equipment, providing reassurance before and during treatment.
  • Determine proper equipment usage, application, and body positioning, making necessary adjustments during therapy treatments to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Recommend modifications or changes to the patient's therapy program based on ongoing evaluation of their progress.
  • Ensure all therapy notes are informative, descriptive, and adhere to the Company’s policy and procedures.
