About The Position

Come join our team as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant in Redwood City, CA! LEARN Academy/Creative Learning Center (LEARN Academy® School Support Services and Education Network (thelearnacademy.com)), is a state-certified, K-12 private day school in California for children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and other neurological disorders. Our comprehensive services — available across the South Bay, Peninsula, and San Francisco Bay Area — are designed to meet the unique needs of the whole student. We are a division of the LEARN Academy, a national leader in special education, academic intervention, and behavioral services for autism. LEARN Academy/Creative Learning Center is a certified NPA and in network with insurance companies enabling us to service students privately in our clinical setting with Behavioral ABA, SLP, OT, and Social Skills Development. The COTA position requires working in a 1:1 setting and small group settings with children with Autism and other similar disorders. Sessions take place in a 1:1 clinic setting, and in our inclusion preschool. CLC is part of the LEARN Behavioral family, a collective group of ABA providers dedicated to delivering collaborative care and nurturing the unique potential of children with autism and special needs in communities from coast-to-coast. Requirements

  • Bachelor's in occupational therapy
  • Maintain CA COTA license requirements
  • Must be able to assume a variety of postures (stoop, reach, stand, kneel, squat, sit, walk, lift, pull, grasp) for extended periods of time.
  • Must be willing and able to implement safety measures consistent with Professional Crisis Management Association (PCMA) such as: therapeutic holds and transportation procedures utilizing quick body movements in the course of maintaining the safety of students with special needs.
  • Candidates must be presently eligible to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with students with Autism is preferred, but not required
  • Spanish speaking is a plus, but not required.
