About The Position

Soundly Speaking is the #1 adult IDD therapy provider in Texas, serving clients ages 21 and up. We work closely with dayhab staff and families to provide Speech, Physical, and Occupational Therapy to the adult Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities community. We offer both in-person and teletherapy services. Our mission is to provide needed and deserved therapy to every single qualified IDD adult in Texas, offering compassion for today and hope for tomorrow. We are looking for passionate and committed Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants who are dedicated to serving adult individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities within the Houston area.

Requirements

• Ability to learn on the job
• Ability to utilize and augment the materials we provide
• Associates in an accredited program for Certified Occupational Therapist Assistants
• Texas-issued Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant License
• Comfortable working with adults in their homes and/or outside of a clinic
• Valid Texas-issued Certified Occupational Therapy assistant License

Responsibilities

• Provide high quality therapy in the client’s home
• Communicate with families about the therapy sessions
• Communicate weekly with families about goals and progress
• Communicate monthly with case managers
• Adjusting the therapy to make sure that there is always progress towards the client’s goals
• Documenting therapy visits
• Contacting families and case managers to share updates
• Maintain confidentiality of patient records in accordance with HIPAA, State, and Federal Regulations
