About The Position

The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) position will be responsible for daily patient physical therapy treatment involving frequent phone and in person interaction with both patients and physicians. The COTA will provide patient care as prescribed by the referring physician and based on the evaluation, assessment and plan of care designed by an Occupational Therapist. The COTA will participate in patient education services as directed by the Occupational Therapist.

Requirements

  • Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) certification
  • Ability to provide patient care as prescribed by a referring physician and based on the evaluation, assessment and plan of care designed by an Occupational Therapist.
  • Experience with patient education services.
  • Ability to ensure a safe and clean working environment, including physical plant, equipment maintenance and supply inventory upkeep.
  • Strong customer service skills for interacting with patients and physicians.

Responsibilities

  • Daily patient physical therapy treatment as prescribed by an evaluating Occupational Therapist.
  • Participate in treatment plan review and ongoing patient care reassessments.
  • Accurate documentation to ensure timely and correct billing.
  • Provide exceptional customer service when interacting with patients and physicians.
  • Provide necessary educational services and participate in facility in-service activities.
  • Work to ensure a safe and clean working environment, including physical plant, equipment maintenance and supply inventory upkeep.
  • Assumes any other responsibilities that may be assigned by the department manager.
