Job Description: As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant, you will play a crucial role in helping your patients achieve their maximum level of independence and quality of life. Working under the supervision of licensed occupational therapists, you will assist in implementing customized treatment plans to address each patient’s unique needs. Your responsibilities will include conducting therapeutic activities, providing hands-on assistance, and documenting progress towards goals. In this unique model. you will be embedded into an interdisciplinary team dedicated to a specific pod of post-acute rehab patients. It’s an extraordinary professional opportunity!

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
  • Current certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) issued by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
  • State licensure or eligibility for licensure in Massachusetts.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with occupational therapists to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
  • Conduct therapeutic exercises and activities to improve patients’ motor skills, strength, and coordination.
  • Assist clients with activities of daily living, adaptive techniques, and use of assistive devices.
  • Provide emotional support and encouragement to clients and their families.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of treatment sessions and progress reports.
