We're seeking a compassionate, motivated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our growing Home Health team serving Albuquerque and the surrounding communities. Working under the direction and supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist, the Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant provides skilled occupational therapy treatments designed to help patients improve their ability to perform activities of daily living safely and independently.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) program
  • Current New Mexico COTA license in good standing
  • Current CPR/BLS certification
  • Valid driver's license
  • Reliable transportation with current automobile insurance
  • Excellent communication, organization, and documentation skills

Nice To Haves

  • Home health experience preferred, but enthusiastic and compassionate clinicians are encouraged to apply

Responsibilities

  • Implement individualized occupational therapy treatment plans established by the supervising Occupational Therapist
  • Assist patients in improving functional mobility, self-care skills, upper extremity function, coordination, strength, balance, and independence with daily activities
  • Guide patients through therapeutic exercises, activities, and functional task training appropriate to the established plan of care
  • Instruct patients and caregivers on home exercise programs, adaptive equipment, energy conservation techniques, and home safety strategies
  • Observe, document, and communicate patient progress, responses to treatment, and changes in condition to the supervising Occupational Therapist
  • Complete accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, therapists, caregivers, and other interdisciplinary team members to provide coordinated, patient-centered care
  • Maintain compliance with Medicare regulations, agency policies, and professional standards of practice
