About The Position

Beacon Home Health is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) to provide occupational therapy to patients in their homes in Lebanon, Tennessee, and surrounding communities. The role aims to help patients restore their fullest physical ability. The COTA works in accordance with organizational policies and procedures and the established plan of care, with care plans set by the supervising occupational therapist. This is a full-time, direct position with LHC Group that reports to and is managed by Pennant.

Requirements

• Current license in the state where services are rendered.
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid driver's license and vehicle insurance, and access to a dependable vehicle or public transportation.
• Ability to reliably commute daily to multiple patient residences within the assigned geographic area.

Responsibilities

• Provide services within the scope of practice defined by applicable state laws and the plan of care established by the supervising occupational therapist.
• Follow the plan of care and instruct and assist patients with evidence-based treatment within the occupational therapy assistant's scope of practice and applicable state laws.
• Observe, record, and report patients' responses to treatment and changes in their conditions to the supervising occupational therapist, nurse supervisor, and/or physician.
• Coordinate care with other members of the healthcare team as appropriate.
• Instruct patients, families, caregivers, and other healthcare team members in therapy matters within the occupational therapy assistant's scope of practice.
