About The Position

TheraPeds Partners is a therapist-owned and operated organization that partners with schools to provide Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) services to PreK–12 students nationwide. As a team of special education providers, we understand the education process, IDEA requirements, and the importance of collaboration within multidisciplinary teams. Our mission is to deliver high-quality Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) services while making meaningful connections in a collaborative learning environment.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) program
• Active New Mexico COTA license through the NM Regulation & Licensing Department
• NBCOT Certification
• Completion of required supervised fieldwork minimum 16 weeks
• Ability to work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT)
• Experience working with children
• Strong foundation in Sensory Integration and ability to identify and analyze areas of developmental and sensory-motor dysfunction
• Organizational and time management skills
• Proficient in use of technology
• Fingerprint background clearance
• Ability to collaborate with school staff and parents with a demonstrated ability to exercise a high level of tact and discretion in both internal and external communications

• Providing therapy services to students
• Conducting assessments
• Developing IEP plans
• Evaluating progress
• Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams (therapists, educators, parents)
• Providing direct therapy
• Completing evaluations
• Offering consultation services
• Managing case-related responsibilities
