About The Position

The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) works under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist to provide patient-centered therapy services in an acute rehabilitation setting. This role supports the implementation of individualized treatment plans focused on restoring function, improving independence, and preventing further disability following illness or injury. The COTA delivers therapeutic interventions, monitors patient progress, and communicates updates to the care team to ensure safe, effective outcomes. Responsibilities include assisting with discharge planning, educating patients and families, and maintaining accurate documentation in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards. The patient population primarily includes adult and geriatric individuals requiring comprehensive rehabilitation services.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited occupational therapy assistant program
  • Current Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant state licensure
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)/CPR certification
