About The Position
We're looking for an organized, detail-oriented Certified Occupancy Specialist (COS) to support our senior affordable housing programs and residents.
Requirements
- COS certification required, or ability to obtain after hire
- 2+ years of affordable housing, occupancy, leasing, or property management experience preferred
- Knowledge of HUD, Section 8, LIHTC, and Fair Housing requirements
- Experience with income certifications and recertifications
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and customer service skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and housing/property management software
Responsibilities
- Process applications and determine eligibility for affordable housing programs
- Complete move-in, annual, and interim certifications/recertifications
- Verify income, assets, household information, and required documentation
- Calculate rents and tenant payments accurately
- Maintain compliant resident files and occupancy documentation
- Ensure compliance with HUD, Section 8, LIHTC, Fair Housing, and other applicable requirements
- Assist residents with questions regarding eligibility, rent, and occupancy
