About The Position

The Certified Nursing Assistant provides direct resident care under the supervision of licensed nursing personnel and helps promote a compassionate physical and psychosocial environment in accordance with facility policies and procedures. The CNA provides activities of daily living within the scope of practice defined by state regulation and each resident’s plan of care. The position is full-time, working days from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Requirements

• Current, active Nursing Assistant certification from the state in which the facility operates.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a nursing team and under the direction of licensed nursing staff.
• Customer-service orientation and ability to work well under pressure.
• Approachable, flexible, and adaptable to change.
• Ability to function independently, with flexibility, personal integrity, and effectiveness when working with stakeholders and vendors.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct resident care under the supervision of licensed nursing personnel.
• Promote a compassionate physical and psychosocial environment in accordance with facility policies and procedures.
• Provide activities of daily living within the scope of practice defined by state regulation and the resident’s plan of care.
• Change bed linen and maintain appropriate grooming supplies in resident rooms.
• Ambulate and transfer residents using appropriate assistive devices and body mechanics.
• Record resident vital signs, weights and measurements, intake and output, food consumption, and other assigned information.
• Routinely turn and position residents as necessary.
• Recognize and support resident rights and choices within the care environment.
• Maintain established housekeeping standards within assigned duty areas.
• Promptly answer call lights and assist with resident needs.
• Assist with orientation and training of other staff as requested.
• Complete other assigned special projects and duties.
