About The Position

Park Place of Elmhurst is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to provide resident and nursing care according to physician’s orders and in conformance with recognized nursing techniques and procedures, established standards, and administrative policies. This role involves maintaining accurate and complete records of nursing observations and care, performing all functions in compliance with CDC, OSHA, JCAHO, State and Federal Regulatory bodies. The CNA will also communicate and interpret the goals of care to the resident and family/caregiver, assist with the admissions process, greet residents and family members, and maintain a calm, pleasant living environment for the residents. Park Place of Elmhurst offers a continuum of care with the security of lifecare, and residents have access to assisted living, short-term rehabilitation, skilled nursing, and memory support on campus. This is a full-time position with shifts from 6AM to 2PM.

Requirements

  • Must have a compassionate, empathetic and nurturing personality.
  • Must truly have a desire to care for the elderly.
  • Must be mature and career minded.
  • Must have a Nursing Assistant Certification for the State of Illinois.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in long-term care is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide resident and nursing care according to physician’s orders and in conformance with recognized nursing techniques and procedures, established standards, and administrative policies.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records of nursing observations and care.
  • Perform all functions in compliance with CDC, OSHA, JCAHO, State and Federal Regulatory bodies.
  • Communicate and interpret the goals of care to the resident and family/caregiver.
  • Assist with the Admissions process and greet residents and family members.
  • Assist in toileting, bathing, and daily grooming of assigned residents.
  • Maintain a calm, pleasant living environment for the residents.
  • Wear a gait belt to assist residents who are not fully ambulatory.
  • Document changes in medical condition to the appropriate nurses on duty.
  • Give and receive shift reports to ensure consistent medical care is delivered.
  • Measure and record vital signs as necessary or instructed.
