About The Position

The Certified Nursing Assistant provides personal care and basic medical assistance to patients. The role includes supporting patients with mobility, meals, hygiene, and daily activities; monitoring and reporting significant changes in condition; and documenting care. The work may take place in a wide variety of environments, with possible exposure to allergens, blood, bodily fluids, and infectious diseases. Duties and responsibilities may change at any time with or without notice.

Requirements

• High school graduate or GED.
• Current, unrestricted certification or proof of training as required by the state.
• Demonstrated proficiency in clinical assessments, documentation, and compliance with aide care policies and procedures.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Able to lift 40 pounds.
• Able to walk, stand, bend, kneel, reach, and twist for prolonged periods.
• Able to sit and climb stairs.
• Strong sense of smell and touch.
• Able to reposition patients sufficiently and move equipment without assistance.

Responsibilities

• Perform, assist with, evaluate, and document basic medical care, including first aid and taking weight and vital signs.
• Assist with ambulation, transfers, and positioning using wheelchairs and other non-life-support medical equipment and devices.
• Prepare meals according to patients’ dietary and nutritional needs.
• Assist patients with bathing, toileting, grooming, shaving, skin and nail care, oral hygiene, dressing, and eating.
• Observe and report significant changes in a patient’s condition to the RN Nursing Supervisor.
