About The Position

Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) play a vital role in delivering compassionate, high-quality care to patients at Deaconess Illinois Medical Center. CNAs work alongside nurses and other healthcare professionals to support patients throughout their hospital stay, providing comfort, assistance, and exceptional care. The role involves providing direct patient support and assisting the nursing team with daily patient care activities.

Requirements

Current Illinois Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
High School Diploma or equivalent
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Compassionate, patient-focused approach to care
Commitment to providing exceptional patient experiences

Previous healthcare experience, though not required

Responsibilities

Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding
Take and record vital signs accurately
Assist with patient mobility, transfers, ambulation, and positioning
Provide comfort measures and support to patients and families
Observe and report changes in patient condition to the nursing team
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment
Support nurses and other healthcare professionals in delivering quality patient care
Communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members
