About The Position

All Ways Caring HomeCare is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to provide basic, uncomplicated patient care and support nurses with activities related to patients’ personal needs and comfort. Care is provided in settings such as home health, hospice, residential, and private duty. The role requires following the scope of practice associated with the aide’s certification and providing compassionate care that supports clients’ dignity, privacy, and independence.

Requirements

• Minimum age of 18 years.
• Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record as defined by agency policy.
• CNA or Home Health Care Aide certification when required by state licensure in the state where care is provided.
• Completion of a recognized home care aide training program or six months of recent experience as an aide.
• Ability to use proper body mechanics while lifting; may be expected to lift up to 75 pounds.
• Ability to sit, stand, and walk for periods of time, and to bend, stoop, push, pull, and reach.

Responsibilities

• Assist nurses with basic care activities related to patients’ personal needs and comfort.
• Dress, groom, bathe, and feed patients.
• Take and record patients’ vital signs, including temperature, pulse, and respiration rate.
• Answer call lights and assist with toileting, oral care, nail care, and catheter care.
• Assist patients in wheelchairs, transport patients, and turn bedridden patients.
• Report changes in patients’ condition.
• Take out trash, clean rooms, and change bed linens.
• Give medication as directed by a physician or nurse and record the amount and time given.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
