About The Position

St. Ann Center for Intergenerational Care is hiring a full-time Certified Nursing Assistant or Personal Care Worker to support adult day care clients. The role assists with activities of daily living, including skincare, ambulation, bathing, dressing, exercise, hair and mouth care, positioning, shaving, bladder and bowel care, transfers, and medication reminders. It also helps meet clients’ personal hygiene, nutritional, social, and recreational needs in a safe, homelike setting. Staff in this position are required to work one weekend per month in the Respite Care Services Department.

Requirements

• High school graduate.
• Active CNA certification.
• CPR training.
• At least one year of experience with children and at least one year of experience with adults.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with a wide range of people and situations.
• Communication skills, compassion, dependability, patience, and a safety-oriented approach.
• Follow St. Ann Center for Intergenerational Care policies and procedures.

Nice To Haves

• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Assist with clients’ personal hygiene, nutritional needs, personal care, ambulation, and other activities of daily living as directed by the supervisor.
• Support clients’ social and recreational needs and help the Activity Coordinator implement activities suited to individual clients.
• Give individual attention to clients as needed and escort them to different areas of St. Ann Center.
• Record daily attendance and meal counts, report special meal needs, complete required forms and reports, and submit them to the supervisor.
• Attend weekly staff meetings and professional seminars and workshops; report client concerns and changes, as well as opportunities to improve services.
• Participate in biannual CPR recertification and other required in-services.
• Maintain a neat and orderly environment in the unit and report needed supplies to the supervisor.
• Chart on clients as directed and report changes in their condition.
• Oversee volunteers when needed or requested.
