About The Position

We are seeking a compassionate, dependable, and dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our team and provide exceptional, person-centered care to our residents. In this rewarding role, you'll be an essential part of our healthcare team, helping residents maintain their dignity, comfort, and quality of life. This position is a part of the SEIU 775 Union.

Requirements

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification.
• Ability to remain calm and act quickly in emergency situations.
• Strong communication skills with residents, families, and healthcare team members.
• A compassionate, patient, and caring approach to resident care.
• Commitment to maintaining resident dignity, privacy, and confidentiality.
• Strong attention to detail and accurate documentation practices.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid certification as a CNA in the state of employment.
• All employees of Cascadia Healthcare are required to submit and be cleared to work in the facility per each state’s specific background check requirements prior to contact with patients/residents.

Nice To Haves

• Valid CPR certificate preferred.
• Six months experience in a long term-care environment preferred.
• A CNA who successfully completes an approved advanced skills training curriculum and/or has demonstrated experience in a needed clinical specialty area, e.g. ventilator, pulmonary, and tracheostomy (VPT), can be classified as a CNA II.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and support to residents while working under the supervision of licensed nursing staff.
• Respond promptly to resident call lights and requests for assistance.
• Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including dressing and grooming, bathing and oral hygiene, hair care, and incontinence care.
• Assist residents with meals, including obtaining food trays and supporting residents during mealtime.
• Help residents with mobility, transfers, ambulation, and range-of-motion exercises.
• Assist with turning and repositioning residents to promote comfort and safety.
• Measure and record vital signs, including temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure.
• Monitor and document food and fluid intake/output.
• Accurately document resident care, ADLs, restorative services, and device usage according to facility policies.
• Participate in interdisciplinary care planning meetings as needed.
• Support individualized, person-centered care plans that honor resident preferences and choices.
• Maintain excellent attendance and punctuality for scheduled shifts.
