About The Position

Beloit Health System is hiring Certified Nursing Assistants to join our Intermediate/Cardiac Stepdown Department at Beloit Memorial Hospital. This position involves taking and recording vital signs, providing personal hygiene care, assisting patients with nutritional needs and ambulation, and assisting with admissions, transfers, and discharges. The role also requires observing safety precautions, maintaining patient confidentiality, and potentially assisting with cardiac monitoring after completing an EKG course. Requirements

  • Current CNA Certification with the Wisconsin registry.
  • CPR certification within three (3) months of hire.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to interact positively with physicians, peers, and patients.
  • Possesses the training, knowledge, and skills necessary to perform one or more of the following activities (evaluation, treatment, and/or patient care) for patients in one or more of the following age groups: neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric.
  • Successful completion of pre-placement physical examination.
  • Ability to read, write and follow oral and written instructions.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior CNA experience is helpful, but willing to train new graduates looking to start an exciting career in healthcare.

Responsibilities

  • Take and record vital signs accurately and in a timely manner, reporting unusual signs and symptoms to appropriate personnel.
  • Provide personal hygiene care for patients such as bathing, oral care, hair/nail grooming, back rubs, etc., while maintaining a clean, safe environment and documents accordingly.
  • Assist patients with their nutritional needs and documents appropriately on the nursing record.
  • Assist patients with ambulation, transporting via wheelchair, stretcher or bed while maintaining safety for the patients.
  • Assist with admissions, transfers and discharges of patients and records on appropriate nursing forms.
  • Observe safety precautions including call lights within easy reach, bed positions in low, side rails up, proper use of safety restraints, and continuous rounding on all patients.
  • Initiates use of bed alarms when appropriate.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all patients, hospital and/or physician related information while performing work related duties in a professional manner.
  • Assist with cardiac monitoring once they complete the EKG course/exam.
