About The Position

Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center in Williamsburg, VA is seeking a Registered Nurse for their 3 South- Acute Cardiac/Stroke Unit. This is a full-time, day shift position with a sign-on bonus of up to $15,000 for qualified candidates. The Acute Cardiac/Stroke Unit (3 South) provides specialized care for patients with a wide range of cardiac conditions, including heart failure, cardiac rhythm disturbances, newly implanted permanent pacemakers and defibrillators, post-coronary interventions, post-ablation care, and myocardial infarctions. The unit also manages pre- and post-catheterization patients, as well as those experiencing acute stroke. This 24-bed unit cares for patients with higher acuity than a typical medical-surgical unit. 3 South offers an exciting opportunity for nurses seeking growth in a dynamic, high-acuity environment. Requirements

  • Degree or Diploma from an accredited Registered Nursing Program
  • Students in the process of completing an accredited nursing program.
  • Students in the process of obtaining a Registered Nursing License
  • BLS within 90 days of hire.
  • Critical Care/IMCU ACLS within 1 year of hire
  • NIHSS within 1 year of hire

Nice To Haves

  • BSN or MSN preferred.
  • Acute care nursing experience preferred
  • Background in Stroke or Telemetry preferred

Responsibilities

  • The Registered Nursing (RN) is responsible to perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process.
  • The standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence- based practice /nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing.
  • The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.
