About The Position

The Certified Nursing Assistant assists professional nursing personnel in providing care to a specific patient population. Under the guidance and direction of a Licensed Nurse, the role provides direct and indirect patient care, supports patient hygiene, documents required information, and uses appropriate equipment and technology. This position is based at the Sumter Campus in Americus, Georgia, and works day shifts.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days of hire.
• Emergency Center employees must complete Crisis Response Training within 6 months of hire.

Nice To Haves

• One or more years of experience in medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Assist nurses with direct patient care.
• Communicate with the manager and keep them informed about unit activities, needs, and patient-care problems.
• Follow departmental, unit, and hospital guidelines, policies, procedures, and established routines.
• Use supplies and equipment cost-effectively and support patient safety and effective outcomes.
• Take necessary actions to meet daily patient hygiene standards.
• Submit required information and data in a timely manner, documenting clearly and accurately using correct terminology and required styles and formats.
• Use role-appropriate equipment skillfully, understand its operation, maintain it in working order, troubleshoot problems, and adapt to new technology.
• Follow attendance and punctuality guidelines and perform duties in alignment with the organization’s core values, mission, and vision.
• Maintain current knowledge, attend staff meetings, and complete required in-services, training, and competency evaluations on time.
• Demonstrate competency in providing care based on patients’ age, sex, weight, and demonstrated needs.
• Wear protective clothing and equipment as appropriate.
• Perform other duties as required and complete job functions according to departmental policies and procedures.
