About The Position

Assists professional nursing personnel in providing patient care to a specific patient population. Provides direct and indirect patient care duties under the guidance and direction of the Licensed Nurse. This is a full-time position on the 7P7A shift at the Sumter Campus in Americus, Georgia.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days of hire.
For Emergency Center employees, Crisis Response Training is required within 6 months of hire.

Nice To Haves

One or more years of experience in medical terminology.

Responsibilities

Assist nurses with direct patient care.
Communicate with the manager and keep them informed of unit activities, needs, and problems related to patient care.
Maintain established departmental, unit, and hospital guidelines, policies, and procedures.
Follow established routines and use supplies and equipment cost-effectively.
Implement and maintain factors related to patient safety and effective outcomes.
Perform necessary actions to meet daily patient hygiene standards.
Document and submit required information and data in a timely manner, accurately using correct terminology and required style and format.
Demonstrate technical skill with role-appropriate equipment, understand its operation, maintain it, troubleshoot problems, and adapt to new technology.
Follow hospital and departmental attendance and punctuality guidelines.
Perform job responsibilities in alignment with the organization’s core values, mission, and vision, and complete other duties as required by departmental policies and procedures.
Maintain current knowledge in areas of responsibility through self-education and ongoing educational programs.
Attend staff meetings and complete mandatory in-services, requirements, and competency evaluations on time.
Demonstrate competency in providing care to patients based on age, sex, weight, and demonstrated needs.
Wear protective clothing and equipment as appropriate.
