About The Position

The Nursing Assistant provides high-quality, individualized patient care activities under the direction of a Registered Nurse or Charge Nurse. Reporting to the Patient Care Services Director/Shift Manager, the role supports the unit’s mission of patient-focused quality care and customer satisfaction. The unit serves a broad range of specialties, so the Nursing Assistant must demonstrate competency and flexibility in caring for patients in areas including medical care, cardiac telemetry, surgical orthopedics, surgical obstetrics (non-postpartum), oncology (including chemotherapy), dialysis, and medical/surgical neurology.

Requirements

• At least 6 months of direct patient care experience in an acute or subacute unit.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Current BLS certification.
• Certified Nursing Assistant certification, or current second-semester nursing student status when hired or transferred into the position.

• High school diploma preferred.
