Certified Nursing Assistant
About The Position
Mountain Valley is seeking a compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant to provide hospice homecare to patients and support their families in the Carroll/Grayson Counties service area. The role involves helping people with advanced illness cope with day-to-day physical, emotional, social, and spiritual challenges, while delivering respectful, patient-centered care during end-of-life experiences. The CNA provides personal care, observes and reports changes in patients’ conditions, offers emotional support, documents care and observations, and collaborates with the interdisciplinary team on coordinated care plans. The position follows a Monday–Friday schedule of 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., with a rotating weekend schedule requiring work every sixth weekend. The posting notes no evening or overnight shifts. Requirements
- Current CNA certification in Virginia.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills and a compassionate, patient-centered approach.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent time management skills.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for home visits.
Responsibilities
- Provide personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting, with respect and sensitivity.
- Monitor patients’ conditions and promptly report changes to the healthcare team.
- Offer emotional support and a comforting, attentive presence to patients and their families.
- Maintain accurate and timely records of care provided and observations made.
- Work with the interdisciplinary team to create and implement comprehensive, coordinated care plans.
- Maintain confidentiality, empathy, and professionalism in all interactions.
