About The Position

Resthaven is seeking Certified Nursing Assistants to provide individualized care to residents in a supportive, mission-driven, faith-based, not-for-profit organization serving older adults. The role may be full-time or part-time and offers first-, second-, and third-shift schedules, with rotating weekends. Candidates who do not yet have CNA certification may receive company-covered certification costs and training. Pay is $16.50–$20.00 per hour, plus shift differential, based on experience and applicable licensure.

Requirements

• High school graduate or successful completion of a GED.
• Successful completion of a Michigan state-approved nurse assistant certification course or other education that meets state certification requirements.
• Current nurse assistant certification in Michigan.

Responsibilities

• Learn residents’ individualized care plans and provide services according to those plans.
• Assist residents with or provide total care for grooming, bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, incontinence care, toileting, transferring, ambulation, range of motion, communication, turning, repositioning, and other needs.
• Lift, move, and transport residents.
• Maintain each resident’s comfort, privacy, and dignity when delivering services.
• Clean and sanitize workrooms, equipment, and resident units.
• Follow established infection control procedures.
• Observe, chart, and report changes in residents’ conditions or behavior to appropriate licensed nursing personnel.
• Respond promptly to residents’ requests for service.
• Perform tasks such as taking vital signs and resident weights, applying creams or ointments, and collecting specimens.
• Float between units depending on operational needs.
• Perform other position-related responsibilities as assigned.
