About The Position

Bluegrass Care and Rehab Center is a 124-bed skilled nursing and long-term care facility operated by Signature HealthCARE. The Certified Nursing Assistant provides direct resident care under the supervision of licensed nursing personnel and helps promote a compassionate physical and psychosocial environment in accordance with facility policies and procedures. The CNA provides activities of daily living within the scope of state regulations and each resident’s plan of care, while supporting resident rights and choices. This is a full-time night position with hours listed as 11 p.m. to 7 a.m.

Requirements

• Current, active Nursing Assistant certification from the state in which the facility operates.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a nursing team and under the direction of licensed nursing staff.
• Customer-service orientation and ability to work well under pressure.
• Approachable, flexible, and adaptable to change.
• Ability to function independently, demonstrate personal integrity, and work effectively with stakeholders and vendors.

Responsibilities

• Perform direct resident care under the supervision of licensed nursing personnel.
• Help promote a compassionate physical and psychosocial environment for residents in accordance with facility policies and procedures.
• Provide activities of daily living within the scope of practice defined by state regulation and the resident’s plan of care.
• Change bed linens and regularly maintain appropriate grooming supplies in residents’ rooms.
• Ambulate and transfer residents using appropriate assistive devices and body mechanics.
• Record resident vital signs, weights and measurements, intake and output, food consumption, and other assigned information.
• Routinely turn and position residents as necessary.
• Recognize and support resident rights and choices within the care environment.
• Maintain established housekeeping standards in assigned duty areas.
• Promptly answer call lights and assist with resident needs.
• Assist with orienting and training other staff as requested.
• Complete other assigned special projects and duties.
