About The Position

All Ways Caring HomeCare is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to provide basic, uncomplicated patient care and assist nurses with activities that support clients’ personal needs and comfort. The nursing group serves clients in settings including Home Health, Hospice, Residential, and Private Duty. The role includes helping clients maintain dignity, privacy, and independence while receiving individualized care at home.

Requirements

• Minimum age of 18.
• Valid driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record as defined by agency policy.
• CNA or Home Health Care Aide certification if required by state licensure in the state where care is provided.
• Completion of a recognized home care aide training program or six months of recent experience as an aide.
• Ability to use proper body mechanics while lifting; may be expected to lift up to 75 pounds.
• Ability to sit, stand, and walk for periods of time, and to bend, stoop, push, pull, and reach.

Responsibilities

• Assist nurses with basic care activities related to patients’ personal needs and comfort.
• Dress, groom, bathe, and feed patients.
• Take and record patients’ vital signs, including temperature, pulse, and respiration rate.
• Respond to call lights and assist with toileting, oral care, nail care, and catheter care.
• Assist patients in wheelchairs, transport them, and turn bedridden patients.
• Report changes in patients’ conditions.
• Take out trash, clean rooms, and change bed linens.
• Give medication as directed by a physician or nurse and record the amount and time given.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Keep functions within the Standards of Practice permitted by the aide’s certification.
