About The Position

Beloit Health System is hiring a Certified Nursing Assistant to join our Ambulatory Surgery Department at Beloit Memorial Hospital. In this position, the Certified Nursing Assistant will take and record vital signs accurately and in a timely manner, reporting unusual signs and symptoms to appropriate personnel. They will escort the patient to the ambulatory suite and clip/scrub when necessary. The CNA will provide personal hygiene care for patients as needed while maintaining a clean, safe environment and documenting accordingly. They will assist patients with ambulation, transporting via wheelchair, stretcher or bed while maintaining safety for the patients. The role also involves observing safety precautions including call lights within easy reach, bed positions in low, side rails up, proper use of safety restraints, and continuous rounding on all patients. Initiates use of bed alarms when appropriate. The CNA must maintain confidentiality of all patients, hospital and/or physician related information while performing work-related duties in a professional manner.

Requirements

  • Current CNA Certification with the Wisconsin registry.
  • Demonstrates ability to do simple math functions.
  • CPR certification within three (3) months of hire.
  • Possesses the training, knowledge, and skills necessary to perform one or more of the following activities (evaluation, treatment, and/or patient care) for patients in one or more of the following age groups: neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric
  • Successful completion of pre-placement physical examination.
  • Involves physical effort that includes full range of body motion which includes standing, walking for extensive periods of time.
  • Also assists with lifting patients up to 25 pounds weight, pushing transport carts ranging in weight of 50-200 pounds.
  • Required to have manual and finger dexterity and eye/hand coordination.
  • Requires ability to see and hear at a level sufficient to perform job duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to read, write and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to speak clearly and distinctly and to interact positively with physicians, peers, and patients.
