About The Position

The Center on Aging and Health is seeking a dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our Nursing department for the night shift in Erwin. Requirements

  • Associate degree or equivalent relevant education and training
  • Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in good standing
  • Prior experience providing direct patient care, preferably in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting
  • Ability to work full-time night shift hours, including weekends and holidays as scheduled
  • Strong understanding of patient care techniques and activities of daily living support
  • Knowledge of infection control and safety procedures
  • Excellent observation and communication skills
  • Compassionate, patient, and empathetic approach to resident care
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative nursing team
  • Physical stamina to assist with resident mobility and transfers
  • Dependable and punctual with a strong work ethic

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct, compassionate care to residents during overnight hours
  • Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
  • Monitor and record vital signs, weight, and fluid intake and output
  • Assist with repositioning, mobility, and transfers to prevent discomfort and injury
  • Observe and report changes in residents' physical or emotional condition to the nursing staff
  • Respond promptly to resident call lights and requests for assistance
  • Ensure residents' comfort by adjusting bedding, lighting, and room temperature
  • Assist with feeding residents who require support during meal and snack times
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care provided
  • Follow infection control and safety protocols to maintain a clean and safe environment
  • Collaborate with the night shift nursing team to ensure continuity of care
  • Support residents' emotional well-being through companionship and respectful communication
