About The Position
Longhorn Village, a not-for-profit retirement community, is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for its skilled nursing facility. The community offers independent living and a full continuum of on-site care, including assisted living, memory care, skilled nursing, and rehabilitation. The ideal candidate will have a strong positive attitude towards customer service, a genuine interest in geriatric care, and the ability to motivate and maintain relationships with staff and residents. This role involves providing direct care to residents, assisting with daily living activities, therapeutic programs, and documentation, all while striving for excellence and creativity in accomplishing facility goals.
Requirements
- Current State of Texas Certified Nurse Assistant license.
- Must maintain a valid driver’s license, maintain automobile insurance coverage and have access to an automobile.
- Must be able to push a minimum of 200 lbs and be able to push such weight a minimum distance of 200 ft.

Responsibilities
- Assists residents with dressing, grooming, eating, positioning, toileting, bathing, and exercising.
- Assists residents in and out of bed or wheelchair with proper transfer equipment.
- Records vital signs, nourishment logs, and other patient records as necessary.
- Maintain, organize, and fully stock the bedside unit.
- Change linen, make beds, and keep resident rooms tidy.
- Responds to all call lights promptly.
- Assists in assuring the maximum quality of life for all residents by maintaining privacy, accommodating individual preference, promoting independence, encouraging and assisting participation in facility activities and events, and communicates respectfully at all times.
