About The Position

The Certified Nursing Assistant (official title: Residential Care Assistant) assists residents with activities of daily living and personal care to promote independence, freedom of choice, and quality of life. The role is at Masonicare at Greenridge Place in Rocky Hill, Connecticut, on the day shift for 32 hours per week, with a choice of weekend schedule. No experience is required, but CNA certification is required.

Responsibilities

Assist residents with activities of daily living and personal care, including bathing, dressing, mobility, toileting, meals, personal hygiene, transfers, and care of assistive devices.
Assist residents with instrumental activities of daily living, including telephone calls, light housekeeping, laundry, transportation coordination, escorting, and mail and correspondence.
Cue residents who self-administer medications.
Observe and report changes in residents’ physical, cognitive, or emotional condition to the ALSA Supervisor or Director of Assisted Living Services as needed.
Conduct room checks during resident rounds, monitor environmental safety, record incidents, errors, and accidents, and document resident-related events.
Assist with dining activities, including escorting residents, meal setup and cleanup, and serving meals.
Participate in and support the resident-centered activity program.
Complete required written documentation about resident care and activities during the shift.
Advocate for residents.
Follow agency confidentiality policies.
Communicate tactfully and diplomatically in sensitive situations and follow up with appropriate staff, residents, or others about complaints, problems, and concerns.
Act as an ambassador to guests and off-campus visitors.
Maintain certifications required for employment.
Perform other duties as required.
