About The Position

This role involves providing direct care to clients, assisting with daily living activities, performing housekeeping tasks, and offering companionship. The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) will work under the supervision of agency staff and in cooperation with client families and other involved agencies. The position requires clear communication of client needs and status changes, as well as staying current with healthcare trends through continuing education.

Requirements

Minimum 1-2 years of CNA experience
Certification as a CNA in the State of Georgia and registered through the Georgia State Registry
Maintain CPR and First Aid certification
Maintain auto insurance
Maintain annual TB screening

Responsibilities

Assistance with activities of daily living including care needs, meal preparation, and assistance with eating.
Personal care needs such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, ambulating, and transferring.
Routine housekeeping tasks including laundry, changing bed linens, dusting, washing dishes, and vacuuming.
Transporting and accompanying patients to doctor’s office appointments.
Running errands on behalf of the client as needed and directed by supervisor.
Serving as a companion for the client and/or providing temporary relief to the caregiver.
Providing specialized client care as instructed by the supervisor.
Communicating client needs and status changes to CHC through written and verbal communication.
Remaining current in healthcare trends through practice management certifications, professional organization membership, and continuing education courses/webinars.
Showing patience and respect in caring for the sick, elderly, and disabled clients.
Working under close supervision of agency staff and cooperating with the client’s family and staff from other agencies.
Performing all other tasks as assigned.
