About The Position

All Ways Caring HomeCare is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to assist nurses with basic care activities that support patients’ personal needs and comfort. The role provides simple or uncomplicated patient care in home health, hospice, residential, and private-duty settings. Duties include helping patients with daily care and mobility, monitoring and recording vital signs, administering medication as directed by a physician or nurse, maintaining patient rooms, and reporting changes in patients’ conditions. The salary range is USD $13.00–$14.00 per hour.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years old.
• Have a valid driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record as defined by agency policy.
• Hold certification, if required by state licensure, as a CNA or Home Health Care Aide in the state where care will be provided.
• Complete a recognized home care aide training program or have six months of recent experience as an aide.
• Use proper body mechanics while lifting; may be expected to lift up to 75 pounds.
• Be able to sit, stand, and walk for periods of time, and bend, stoop, push, pull, and reach.

Responsibilities

• Assist nurses with basic care activities related to patients’ personal needs and comfort.
• Dress, groom, bathe, and feed patients.
• Take and record patients’ vital signs, including temperature, pulse, and respiration rate.
• Answer call lights and assist with toileting, oral care, nail care, and catheter care.
• Assist patients in wheelchairs, transport patients, and turn bedridden patients.
• Report changes in patients’ conditions.
• Take out trash, clean rooms, and change bed linen.
• Give medication as directed by a physician or nurse and record the amount and time given.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
