About The Position

This position involves providing direct care to residents during the third shift, from 10:30 PM to 7:00 AM. The Certified Nursing Assistant is responsible for ensuring residents are comfortable, well-groomed, and safe, and for reporting any changes in their condition to the nurse.

Requirements

Certified Nursing Assistant certified by the State of South Carolina.
Active and in good standing with the State of South Carolina.

Responsibilities

Check group assignment and feeding list at the main desk.
Conduct rounds with the outgoing shift to understand resident status.
Ensure residents are dry before accepting the assignment.
Report any problems to the nurse.
Check shower list and residents assigned to get up during the shift.
Administer showers as scheduled, reporting refusals to the nurse.
Ensure residents are properly groomed, dressed appropriately for weather, and have clean nails and shaven as needed.
Offer snacks and ice to awake residents.
Report unusual incidents such as falls, skin tears, bruises, behavioral changes, or anything abnormal.
Maintain cleanliness of resident rooms and closets.
Turn and reposition residents as scheduled.
Complete PCR books and sign shower and snack lists before the end of the shift.
Clean wheelchairs and gerichairs as needed.
Take assigned wheelchairs for washing on Friday mornings.
Ensure residents' personal belongings are labeled and bagged.
Check vital signs weekly and as needed (PRN).
Manage dirty and empty barrels for laundry.
Maintain a quiet environment.
Follow the chain of command.
