About The Position

The Certified Nursing Assistant provides services to assigned residents in accordance with their care plans and facility policies and procedures, under the direction of a supervisor. The position is hourly and non-exempt, with no direct reports. The role is based at Sunterra Springs Independence in Independence, Missouri, and has day and overnight shift schedules with rotating weekends.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current CPR/BLS certification.
• Current Food Handler Permit.
• No disciplinary action in effect against the CNA certification.
• CNA certification in good standing with the state is listed as preferred but not required.
• At least one year of experience as a certified nursing assistant in long-term care is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide certified nursing assistant services and perform assigned CNA duties in accordance with resident care plans and facility policies and procedures.
• Treat residents with dignity and respect, promote and protect their rights, and protect them from abuse.
• Follow facility policies, standards of business conduct, and applicable state and federal regulations and guidelines.
• Follow safety, hygiene, and infection-control procedures; use proper lifting and body mechanics when providing resident care.
• Maintain confidentiality of protected health information and report policy or regulatory noncompliance, confidentiality breaches, retaliation, discrimination, suspected abuse or mistreatment, occupational exposures, and work-related injuries or illnesses to the appropriate personnel.
• Cooperate with investigations and participate in life-safety and emergency drills, training, and assigned emergency-plan duties.
• Complete assigned training and skills competency requirements as a condition of employment.
• Attend care-plan meetings for assigned residents and participate in QAPI or facility-assessment activities as needed.
• Accept CNA assignments as staffing needs require.
