The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) will work in the Nursing Progressive Care Unit (PCU) at the University of Miami Hospital & Clinics. This full-time position involves providing direct patient care, including hygiene assistance, feeding, ambulation, turning, positioning, and maintaining patient comfort. The CNA will also administer basic treatments, collect specimens, perform urine testing, and provide post-mortem care. Key responsibilities include responding promptly to patient calls, maintaining a safe environment, transporting patients and equipment, and reporting patient conditions to the assigned nurse. The role also involves measuring and recording intake and output, monitoring vital signs, and assisting patients with mobility. Adherence to University and unit policies, as well as safeguarding University assets, is expected. This list of duties is not exhaustive and may be expanded as needed.
