About The Position

Supports Med/Surg patients with personal hygiene (bathing, oral) and elimination, eating and hydration, ADL's (dressing, grooming), ambulation, turning positioning, patient transportation, and promptly responding to patient call lights. Contributes to the assessment of the patient status by observing, collecting, and reporting data, including vital signs, intake and output, height and weight, patient and family comments and behavior, and basic symptoms or changes from normal health status. Promptly reports pertinent changes to the appropriate licensed professional. Contributes to a safe and orderly patient care and work environment by following procedures for cleaning all used patient equipment, caring for patients with restraints, and cleaning the kitchenette, utility, and storage rooms; will stock supplies, as needed, and keep patient rooms neat. Contributes to effective patient care and teamwork through effective interpersonal relationships with patients, families, co-workers and other departments; communicating information through appropriate channels; growing in knowledge of basic medical terminology; receiving and conveying messages. Is a productive member of the team and completes assigned duties with minimal direct supervision.

Requirements

  • Nursing Assistant (CNA or NA/R) in the state of Minnesota.
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Aptitude to learn how to operate the assigned patient care equipment safely and effectively.
