About The Position

Shady Grove Medical Center seeks to hire an experienced Certified Nursing Assistant for our Forensic Medical Unit who will embrace our mission to extend God’s care through the ministry of physical, mental, and spiritual healing. As a Forensic Certified Nursing Assistant, you will: • Adhere to and stays abreast of organizational policies and procedures; is a resource to others in the department and organization • Appropriately utilizes the chain of command • Demonstrate effective communication, conflict resolution and team building • Maintain all required certifications, competencies and education • Promote cohesive work teams; Collaborate with other departments in a professional manner as needed to provide patient-centered care • Works alongside the RN in a Relationship-Based Care model • Follows the care plan as established and delegated by the Registered Nurse • Receives report from the Registered Nurse • Ensures a culture of safety • Unwavering focus for excellence • Under supervision of a Registered Nurse and according to established policies and procedures, perform various service duties and routine technical tasks such as vital signs and activities of daily living. • Specific duties may vary by area of assignment. • Consideration of the special needs and behaviors of specific patient populations is required.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Successful completion of the CNA program or first year of Nursing School Program and successful completion of the CNA exam
  • Valid Maryland CNA license required
  • Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations
  • Ability to read, write and speak English in order to communicate effectively
  • Experience in Forensic related field preferred or one year of current experience in hospital environment with strong attention to detail
