About The Position

Shady Grove Medical Center seeks to hire an experienced Certified Nursing Assistant for our Forensic Medical Unit who will embrace our mission to extend God’s care through the ministry of physical, mental, and spiritual healing. As a Forensic Certified Nursing Assistant, you will adhere to and stay abreast of organizational policies and procedures, be a resource to others in the department and organization, and appropriately utilize the chain of command. You will demonstrate effective communication, conflict resolution, and team building, while maintaining all required certifications, competencies, and education. The role promotes cohesive work teams and collaboration with other departments in a professional manner as needed to provide patient-centered care. You will work alongside the RN in a Relationship-Based Care model, follow the care plan as established and delegated by the Registered Nurse, and receive report from the Registered Nurse. Ensuring a culture of safety and an unwavering focus for excellence are key. Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and according to established policies and procedures, you will perform various service duties and routine technical tasks such as vital signs and activities of daily living. Specific duties may vary by area of assignment. Consideration of the special needs and behaviors of specific patient populations is required.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Successful completion of the CNA program or first year of Nursing School Program and successful completion of the CNA exam
• Valid Maryland CNA license required
• Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations
• Ability to read, write and speak English in order to communicate effectively
• One year of current experience in hospital environment with strong attention to detail

Nice To Haves

• Experience in Forensic related field preferred
