About The Position

Enrich the lives of older adults through community, choice, and continuing care in the Certified Nursing Assistant role. Under the direction of licensed nursing staff, the CNA provides basic care and support services to meet and exceed the needs and comfort of residents within a memory care or assisted living care setting. Requirements

  • A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent accompanied by experience as a CNA.
  • Current Washington State Nursing Assistant certification.
  • Ability to obtain a Washington State Food Worker Card within 14 days of hire.
  • Ability to obtain a CPR and First Aid certification within 30 days of hire.
  • Ability to obtain a Nurse Delegation Core Certificate within 120 days of hire.
  • Ability to obtain a Nurse Delegation Diabetes Certificate within 120 days of hire.
  • Ability to obtain a Mental Health Specialty Certificate within 120 days of hire.
  • Ability to obtain a Dementia Specialty Certificate within 120 days of hire.
  • Effective and comprehendible English verbal and written communication skills to accomplish charting, record keeping, and to comprehend written orders and procedures.
  • Displays a personable and comforting personality to care for the residents.
  • Use logic and reasoning to identify alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.

Responsibilities

  • Care for residents by monitoring health status, feeding, bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, assisting with mobility, and serving meals and snacks.
  • Establish and maintain interpersonal relationships with residents, families, and coworkers.
  • Provide comfort measures to include positioning and proper alignment using pressure ulcer prevention techniques.
  • Answer call signals, signal lights, bells, or intercom systems to determine the resident’s needs.
  • Demonstrate proper use of wheelchairs, walkers, mechanical lifts, and scales.
  • Provide light housekeeping and laundry services.
  • Participate in various activities to provide life enrichment.
  • Document and record resident observations and health-related information in the electronic health record systems.
  • Communicate resident observations and health-related information to others member of the care team including coworkers, supervisors, third-party providers, and families.
  • Learn and apply Company, Federal, State and Local rules, regulations, and policies.
