About The Position

WANDER STAFFING seeks to add twenty-three (23) Certified Nursing Assistants to our Team! These positions are located at the Robley Rex VA Medical Center, located at 800 Zorn Avenue, Louisville, KY 40206. The Robley Rex VA Medical Center (VAMC) is a full-service Department of Veterans Affairs medical center located in Louisville, Kentucky. As part of the VA Healthcare System, the facility provides comprehensive inpatient, outpatient, surgical, emergency, mental health, and specialty care services to Veterans throughout Kentucky and southern Indiana. The medical center is supported by a multidisciplinary team of physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, pharmacists, therapists, and allied health professionals dedicated to delivering high-quality, Veteran-centered care. In addition to its main campus, Robley Rex VAMC supports a network of community-based outpatient clinics, ensuring Veterans have access to a broad range of healthcare services across the region.

Requirements

  • Current, valid, unrestricted CNA license in any US State
  • BLS
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Must be able to pass a federal background check
  • CNAs must have one (1)-year experience within the last three (3) years.
  • Copy of current TB testing and results within the past 12 months and then annually
  • Completed Fingerprint Information Form (will be provided by VA), Record of current Hepatitis B vaccination or declination form.

Responsibilities

  • Provide close observation of patients.
  • Document on patient's observation flow sheet hourly or as directed by RN to document patient behavior, Activity of Daily Living, and physical care.
  • Delivery of direct patient care to include personal hygiene care (bathing, dressing, toileting), assistance with meals, lifting and moving, and assistance with ambulation.
  • Ability to assist in the full range of nursing care to patients/residents with physical and/or behavioral problems in a hospital, long term care setting under the direction of a Registered Nurse and/or Licensed Vocational Nurse Licensed Practical Nurse.
  • Ability to communicate orally with patients/residents, families, interdisciplinary team and other personnel.
  • Ability to recognize and react to emergent patient/resident care situations and intervene while waiting for assistance.
  • Report changes in mental or physical status immediately to assigned nurse/charge nurse.
