About The Position

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse, provides delegated age-appropriate care in a culturally and ethnically sensitive manner. The CNA assists patients with tasks outlined in their clinical competency assessment, including basic nursing skills, personal care skills, and basic restorative services. The CNA performs skills taught during CNA training and certification or during basic nursing courses at an accredited school for professional nurses. The CNA may also provide continuous safety observation. This role reports to the Nurse Manager or Assistant Nurse Manager of the assigned unit and to the RNs on duty during each assigned shift. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

State of Wisconsin Nursing Assistant Certification; alternatively, current enrollment in a nursing program with documentation of successful completion of the required basic nursing course at an accredited school for professional nurses and at least one acute-care medical/surgical clinical rotation.
American Heart Association Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS), or an AHA-approved equivalent, required within 90 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
