About The Position
Sheridan Community Hospital is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to support our Medical-Surgical (Med/Surg) team in a PRN role. This position is ideal for CNAs looking for flexibility while providing meaningful, hands-on patient care in a hospital setting. The role offers flexible PRN scheduling and the opportunity to work in both Med/Surg and the Emergency Department based on census. It provides a supportive nursing and care team environment with meaningful patient interaction and direct care impact, allowing CNAs to gain or maintain hospital experience in a critical access setting.
Requirements
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) required (or Certified/Registered Medical Assistant)
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- BLS certification required (or ability to obtain within 30 days)
- Ability to safely assist patients with lifting and mobility needs
- Strong communication, teamwork, and patient care skills
Nice To Haves
- Previous clinical or patient care experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, toileting, and feeding
- Monitor and report changes in patient condition to nursing staff
- Support mobility, transfers, and positioning of patients
- Assist with equipment such as wheelchairs, walkers, and bedside care tools
- Ensure patient comfort, safety, and dignity at all times
- Maintain clean, organized patient care environments
- Perform basic clerical or support functions as needed
- Communicate effectively with nurses and care team members
- Follow infection control and safety protocols
- Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
